In the context, NEOMA Business School chooses to give its graduates the ability to “learn how to learn” so they can acquire new skills and knowledge throughout their careers. NOEMA Business School’s teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in practice-based learning or “learning by doing”, which particularly encouragesreal-world experience of management issues. This translates into constant interaction between theory and practice as well as a wide variety of methods used in our courses and programmes.

Innovative education: blended learning

This mixed teaching system combines distance and classroom learning.

Through its blended learning approach, the school gradually introduces a balanced and well-considered combination of teaching methods adapted to the learning objectives of each programme. Each method is selected to fit the educational needs of the course or learning activity. The objective is to develop a more autonomous and proactive approach to learning in our students.

Blended Learning combines:

  • Independent distance learning on the more knowledge-based parts of courses using digital resources
  • Classroom and group learning

The aim is to focus classroom learning work on activities that provide greater added value for students using experiential teaching methods (action learning). These experiential methods (simulations, flipped classrooms, project management, case studies, etc.) create a more solid framework for knowledge and greater student commitment to their own learning process.

The teacher’s skills are then mobilised and exploited through their personalised support of the students’ learning process.

A unit dedicated to innovative education

The Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) offers a proactive strategy concerning pedagogic innovation. It provides cutting-edge technologies, methods and tools to enhance the learning process and make it as effective as possible. As a real driving force of pedagogic creativity at NEOMA Business School, the centre promotes and supports the on-going development and improvement of activities, approaches and knowledge in both teaching and learning.

The TLC includes the LIBRARY and CUBE :

CUBE (Counsel Unit for Blended Education)

Its mission is to provide professors and students with environments and technological and methodological resources to develop available and effective tools, content, learning contexts and methods.

Within CUBE, the Simulation Centre identifies the world’s best pedagogic simulations and incorporates them into programmes to link theory and practice, provide experience-based instruction and offer researchers areas for testing and experimentation.

Recording studio

To improve its recorded output significantly, NEOMA BS has decided to share a recording studio with other higher education institutions in the Rouen area, in response to the needs of two of our school’s units:

  • The Teaching & Learning Centre (T&LC), which is responsible for promoting educational creativity. T&LC staff are experts in documentary resources and educational technology for programmes and professors.
  • The of NEOMA Business School Digital Communication department, which is responsible for the School’s Internet communication.

This studio will provide three services:

  • Video equipment, for the creation and broadcast of educational resources under quasi-professional conditions,
  • Another ready-to-use automated space for the use of professors and communicators,
  • Mobile equipment for the creation and distribution of teaching materials outside the studio.

Meet to Teach (M2T) meetings

These meetings between professors to discuss specific pedagogic topics aim to facilitate the circulation of pedagogic practices to enhance the knowledge and skills of the teaching staff and to identify possible shared projects.

The COMMITTEE FOR INNOVATIVE LEARNING (CIL)

Its mission is to guarantee the implementation of innovative pedagogic methods at NEOMA BS in line with the school’s strategy. It deals with cross-fuctional issues at NEOMA BS or specific issues relating to its training programmes. CIL members are elected faculty representatives.
